Holy crap does this ever look cool… I remember RE2 being the first video game to actually scare the crap out of me when those arms broke through the window and grabbed hold… still gives me shivers thinking about it. Anyway, this trailer shows that the new one is going to be AWESOME! No idea when its coming out though…
Well it was time for a new case for my iPhone, so I decided to look around and see what I could find. The girlfriend and I decided that our current cases were too bulky, so we took the skin route.
I found decalgirl and decided to go with this skin for myself. I also ordered two of the clear skins, one glossy and one matte to see how they work. I imagine that the girlfriend will take either the matte or glossy, and if this ‘troublemaker’ skin looks too outrageous on my phone then I’ll take the remaining one.

It’s only going to be a matter of time before the Harley Davidson Fat Bob is mine. I’ve been a Harley fan all my life, but have never owned one myself. The closest I’ve come is my dad owning a few, currently a 2005 Harley Davidson Road King, but still I can’t imagine that there will be a feeling greater than me driving a brand new bike off the lot, knowing that its all mine.
The Fat Bob is new for this year, and falls into the Dyna category in Harley’s lineup. The Fat Bob features a ESPFI 1584cc twin cam 96 powerhouse with aggressive styling from front to back. I’ve looked over, and tested out a few other Dyna’s and Softail’s, but by far the Fat Bob was the best ride for me. The forward controls and flat bars were very comfortable for someone like me with long arms and legs, and cornering etc was a cinch on those fat tires.
Now it’s come down to actually finding one of these beasts… the 09’s will be coming at the end of August, so until then things will be sparse. I’ve been phoning and emailing around with only one of the twelve dealers actually getting one for the end of June. The rest said that there is no hope in finding one, and best to pre-order one for 09… I do not want to burn the whole summer waiting for a bike, so I may jump on the vivid black one that I’ve managed to find.
The other thing that I’m wondering about is pipes. The one I test drove had the stock tommy guns, and I thought they were decent, but I’d like to get something better. I spoke with the local HD dealer today, and I brought up my dad’s 05 screamin’ eagles. The dealer stated that in 06 or 07 they had to make emission changes so to be more environmentally friendly… and therefore the eagles are no louder than the stock pipes… wtf… If I’m going to drop $1200 on a stage one, I want it to be one loud ass deep sounding mofo! I’ll have to look into the pipes a little more.
I’ll let you know what I decide, and let me know if you have any ideas for pipes etc.
After a few weeks of resigning to the fact that David Archuleta was the run away favorite to win American Idol, I was very pleased to see that the real star got 56% of the votes, and we have a winner that is not just the cookie cutter result of being cute in the eyes of screaming text-message-fanatic 15 year old girls across the country.
David Cook was far and away the best singer and performer in this years show, and that I can remember for a long time. Carrie Underwood, who I’ll reference later, is still the best, but Cook showed originality and presence that the karaoke kid could only dream to match one day.
On the Tuesday night final performance show, Simon was pretty blatant in stating that the karaoke kid was his favorite, and slammed Cook. Cook was able to say with a straight face that he performed the songs that he wanted to and the confidence spilled over into the voting audience. From what I’ve read the voters nation wide banded together to ensure a victory for the real star, and not to be outdone by the text-mania of the 15 year olds cheering for the karaoke kid. 90 some million votes, 56% of them for Cook… Congrats to Cook and best of luck in the future… To the dad of the karaoke kid, who has been counting on his meal ticket son ever since the star search days… better keep your day job!
On a side note, the show was actually pretty good, with some really good performances from ZZ Top, Bryan Adams, One Republic, George Michael, etc, but the show was stolen by past idol winner Carrie Underwood.
If you watched the show, saw that outfit, and heard the voice, you know why she is the most popular idol ever. Not to mention the top female vocalist at the ACM awards show.
Awesome show last night!

Well I guess it was only a matter of time before google street view captured a crime in progress!
I was quite excited to learn that Steinberg had released Sequel, a stripped down version of cubase that is perfect for hobbyist recorders that want something that is feature rich, but not too confusing for someone to learn. I went ahead and downloaded the trial version that is available on their site, but have only had marginal success on OSX 10.5.2.
The first issue that I noticed was that during playback and occasionally during recording there was a crackling sound. It was as if my C2D 2.0 with 4gb of ram didn’t have enough juice to power the software. I checked around and found it was an issue that a number of mac users had been reporting.
Second issue is that all of a sudden I can no longer start the program. I’m still well within my trial period, but I get this error:
Syncrosoft License Control - Error
Application “Sequel 1.x Trial” has caused the following error:
eLicenser(s) contain(s) no valid license for this application.
Options:
- For troubleshooting information click <help>
- Click <Licenses> to view available licenses.
- Connect a valid eLicenser and click <retry>
- Click <cancel> to abort.
I’ve tried to uninstall it, re-download and re-install but still get this same error. I’ve posted my question on the sequel user forum, but still don’t have a reply…
I was really excited when I first tried this program out, but now that I’m unable to use it I may have to look elsewhere, or back to GarageBand.
Congratulations to Russia for winning the 2008 World Hockey Championship! I knew that the Russia/Canada final would be a beauty, and it didn’t disappoint the true hockey fan. Of course I’m chapped that Canada was unable hold on to a 4-2 lead, and blow it in the 3rd period and then overtime, but still they played well and it was a good tournament overall for them. I guess Ovechkin wasn’t quite ready to hoist the Stanley Cup this year, but a taste of the world championship for his country will probably add even more fuel to the fire for the young star. Look out next year!
While playing with iPhoto the other day I realized that I have a lot of garbage clogging up my digital memories, making it hard to find the pictures that I really want to see. A quick check shows that I have 19,403 pictures sitting on my computer!! Uh yeah, that makes it a little hard to find the exact one that I’m looking for, so I think its time to cut down the stack.
Now I’m just trying to figure out what the best way is…
- Should I outright delete the pictures I don’t want?
- Should I save the ones I don’t want just in case?
- Should I just use iPhoto’s feature to hide certain photos?
I’m really torn between my options right now… I’m thinking that #3 is probably the safest, but #1 would clean things up big time.
The next project will be geotagging all my photos… I’ve downloaded a mac app called Geotagger that will supposedly do the trick along side google earth, but I’ve yet to try it out.
Well the website is finally done. After weeks of throwing the idea around and trying to figure out if I really wanted to do it, I finished GeoHunt Canada, at www.geohunt.ca
Since I bought my little GPSr unit last week, I’ve been non stop thinking about different ways to have fun with this. I saw that most geocaches stay put, and they are never really moved around. I figured I’d take a different spin on things and create a hide and seek style of geocaching. With GeoHunt Canada, you can seek out the cache that I planted, and if you are lucky enough to be the first to find it, you can take it and hide it somewhere else in the city. So far there is only one city, but if this catches on at all I will expand it to more cities.
Anyway have a look if you have some free time, and if you are anywhere near the hidden geocache head out and see if you can find it!
